Book an appointment
Appointments take place in your home. I travel up to 20 minutes drive from my home in Bloomfield, NJ. If you live beyond this or are not sure please contact me. A travel fee may be added for those outside my usual area.
See here for my service area.
Virtual appointments using my secure Google meet link are also available on request.

I am in network with most primary Aetna plans.
Please confirm your lactation coverage with your insurance policy before booking. Aetna tells most patients that 6 lactation visits are covered. This refers to code S9443. Most appointments with me use S9443 twice: once for the lactating parent and once for the baby. That translates to 3 visits where code S9443 is covered. A pumping only follow-up where the baby is not present only bills S9443. I also bill other preventive codes which Aetna currently does not limit. Some online breastfeeding classes use up lactation class code S9443 before the baby arrives (particularly Aeroflow). You may call Aeroflow and request these claims to be voided if they were not helpful to you. Then you will be able to use your benefits with an in-person IBCLC appointment rather than an online webinar.
Some plans will assign a portion of the claim to your or your baby’s deductible. I will invoice you for any remaining portion after the explanation of benefits has been received. This varies between plans. Some patients successfully appeal this by calling Aetna and reminding them this is preventive healthcare and should be covered with no out of pocket costs under the affordable care act (ACA).
Leslie Kowalski, IBCLC does a great job of explaining this further here

I strongly recommend you call your insurance company and ask them about your lactation coverage before booking an appointment. If they do not have any local IBCLCs in their network you can ask for a "Gap Exception" or "In for Out" to cover out of network cost. This can help you get reimbursed when you submit a superbill (receipt) for the visit. All out of network plans need to be pre-paid to book. I will send you a Superbill after the visit.
Sometimes your insurance company will request to know which codes I use before allowing the Gap exception. You can share diagnosis code Z39.1 and Lactation class code S9443.
